Reasons to Pay Attention to Your Dreams

1. Dreams are calling us to change so we will not perish.

Job 33:14-18

For God may speak in one way, or in another, Yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falls upon men, While slumbering on their beds, Then He opens the ears of men, And seals their instruction. In order to turn man from his deed,
And conceal pride from man, He keeps back his soul from the Pit, And his life from perishing by the sword.

2. God declared that He spoke through dreams and visions in the old testament.

Hosea 12:10

I have also spoken by the prophets, And have multiplied visions; I have given symbols through the witness of the prophets.”

3. God declared that He would speak through dreams and vision in the old testament.

Num 12:6

Then He said, “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream.

4. God declares that He will communicate through dreams and visions in the New Testament.

Acts 2:17

“And the tabernacle of meeting shall move out with the camp of the Levites in the middle of the camps; as they camp, so they shall move out, everyone in his place, by their standards.

5. God declares that He will counsel us at night through our dreams.

Psalm 16:7

I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.

6. God can do significant things through dreams just like He established the Abrahamic covenant in a dream.

(Gen 15:12,13,18)

Now when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold, horror and great darkness fell upon him. Then He said to Abram: “Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years.
On the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying:
“To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates—

7. God grants supernatural gifts through dreams.

(1 kings 3:5, 9, 12, 15)

At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?”
Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”
behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you.
Then Solomon awoke; and indeed it had been a dream. And he came to Jerusalem and stood before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, offered up burnt offerings, offered peace offerings, and made a feast for all his servants.
